freaking A it's hot. seriously, this is WRONG.

today on my way home from work i decided to fill up my almost empty tank full of gas. first off i learned an important lesson: everyone else and their MOTHER gets gas after work, especially at the cheapest place in town. second i had an interesting experience. so i am sitting there with my windows down, sweating. i don't use my AC when i am idle, so bad for the car, especially in this heat. so i am sitting and sweating and this middle-aged guy kind of glanced at me, but then again, and then again. then he came around his car and kind of waved at me. well he goes into the store and i finally pull forward after waiting and get the pump going and i am sitting and waiting. this guy comes back out and walks over to my car. "it's a hot one today." i reply, "yea this is pretty nasty." he sticks out his hands and says, "take your pick." he's holding an ice cream sandwich in one hand and a Reeses ice cream bar in the other. "no thanks, it's ok," i replied, out of sheer "holy crap" freak out reaction. he says, "i am just going to get in my car and it's going to melt, take one." "no, really, it's ok." he politely insists, "just take one, you don't owe me anything. i just wanted to do something nice for someone today." so, i take one and say thank you. "you're welcome! have a great day!" he gets in his car and drives off.

my gas pump clicks done.

my Reeses ice cream bar was delicious.

So i have been listening to Sonicflood's first CD recently. it's pretty much the only thing i have been listening to, minus some other worship CDs. i just felt compelled to type up Jeff Deyo's ramblings in between a couple of the songs on the CD. i really like them. and i don't think i need to say anything, they speak for themselves...

"Foundations can't be moved without destroying a building. If the foundation of this building we're in right now we moved, what would happen to the building? It would collapse. Now you can move the building and put it on another foundation, but that foundation, it's there. Because foundations are secure. Because this nation, we know what the foundation is. It's all over the constitution, it's all over the walls of the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, it's written throughout history. Regardless of what the politicians believe, regardless of what you and I attest to, truth is truth. The founding fathers built it on the truth of the Word of God. Everything about the laws of this land were taken from the Scripture, from Old Testament. They were right from the Old Testament books of the law. And so, you can't move away from that foundation without destroying the nation. And so this whole debate and argument over what's truth and what's not truth, the only truth that founded this nation, we left a country of tyranny for religious freedom to worship. And God's not afraid of who or how you worship, because He knows sooner or later, if you're truly seeking, You'll see Him. God's not insecure. He's confident. And so we need to come to Him, see Him as He is, and that's true worship. Because in the midst of that all securities are made clear, and all fears are relieved."

"The evidence that Jesus is who He said He is by how He's changed your life and my life, and He's revealed truths of power in us that is not our own. He's come to give us life, and give it more abundantly. You're more than a conquerer. Ok. Listen to the kind of adjectives He used to describe the life you have IN Jesus. Music is the key to open the heart to see Jesus. Music opens our eyes, and if anything that I hear the Spirit saying in this about this issue of worship, open my eyes, open my eyes Holy Spirit, I want to see Jesus. And when the Holy Spirit opens your eyes, You WILL be touched and broken with tears because seeing Him as He really is, you'll never be left the same. He transforms you. He gives you love like you.. I can't believe He loves me. It just blows my mind."
